This incredibly rare EVOO is the first EVOO of the harvest season from our lands in the remote Sicani Mountains of Sicily, Italy. We lovingly grew and responsibly harvested all olives that went into this EVOO, and the results speak for themselves!

How does it taste?

This year's harvest brought about a rich EVOO with bold, buttery, earthy flavours. This utterly unique coupage – a “maker’s blend” – of ORO SICANI Estate olives gives you creamy, verdant artichoke notes and a grassy, peppery finish.

STORAGE
Store in a cool, dry place away from light and heat. In chillier temperatures, the EVOO may naturally turn cloudy. This is normal and does not affect the quality of the product. Do not pour hot oil back in the glass bottle (duh).

We are here to showcase the extraordinary quality that comes from our breathtaking and underrepresented territory.

We're in Sicilia, baby! ORO SICANI Estate is based in the south-western province of Agrigento, with the towns of Cianciana, Alessandria della Rocca, and Bivona all nearby. We’re approximately 1,550 metres above sea level, with Monte Sara and Monte Cavallo our most notable neighbours. The Platani River flows through the valleys of our region and out to the Mediterranean Sea, which we’re very fortunate to see from ORO SICANI Estate.

The sun is Sicily’s friend and we experience an abundance of sunny, often humid days, and chilly, rainy winters that are perfect for olive tree planting! 

THE PROBLEM WE SEE:

The agricultural industry is rough in general, and even more so in Sicily. Not only are you battling cost of living increases and climate change-induced water shortages, there’s also fewer producers because the younger generation is leaving the small, rural towns to try to earn a better living in larger cities.
