Exotic and eye-catching, the bold pomegranate (melograno) crest is a lesser-known motif of Sicily because the climate is perfect for them to grow. Aqua blue (acquamarina) vines abundantly wrap around this hand-made vessel that is topped with a sun-yellow spout. Now the real question is: Why are you still reading this? We're in Sicilia, baby! ORO SICANI Estate is based in the south-western province of Agrigento, with the towns of Cianciana, Alessandria della Rocca, and Bivona all nearby. We’re approximately 1,550 metres above sea level, with Monte Sara and Monte Cavallo our most notable neighbours. The Platani River flows through the valleys of our region and out to the Mediterranean Sea, which we’re very fortunate to see from ORO SICANI Estate.
The sun is Sicily’s friend and we experience an abundance of sunny, often humid days, and chilly, rainy winters that are perfect for olive tree planting!

THE PROBLEM WE SEE:
The agricultural industry is rough in general, and even more so in Sicily. Not only are you battling cost of living increases and climate change-induced water shortages, there’s also fewer producers because the younger generation is leaving the small, rural towns to try to earn a better living in larger cities.
OUR SOLUTION:
‘Sustainability from the soil up’ is our motto. We champion regenerative farming principles and optimise every single component of our operations to be as environmentally-minded as possible. Because it is possible, it just requires more thought, sometimes more cost, and a lot of creativity.
